Jeff Markowitz has spent most of his life as an unpublished author.
After receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in psychology in 1974 from Princeton University and a Master’s in Education from Rutgers, Jeff spent forty years creating innovative programs and services for children and adults with autism.
Jeff was fifty when he wrote his first mystery, Who is Killing Doah’s Deer? Published in 2004 by iUniverse, it introduced readers to tabloid reporter and amateur sleuth Cassie O’Malley. Cassie returned in 2006, when Five Star published A Minor Case of Murder. In 2009, Five Star published the third Cassie O’Malley Mystery, It’s Beginning to Look a Lot like Murder.
After penning three amateur sleuth mysteries, Jeff decided to embrace his dark side. His most recent book, a black comedy, Death and White Diamonds was released by Intrigue Publishing in 2014. Death and White Diamonds won the Lovey Award for Best Thriller and the David Award for Best Mystery.
Jeff is a proud member of the International Thriller Writers and the Mystery Writers of America. He currently serves as the Chapter President of MWANY. Jeff lives in Monmouth Junction, NJ with his wife, Carol.
